David Ebert is a New York–based commercial director, writer, and performer working with 1stAveMachine. Drawing on a decade at Upright Citizens Brigade, he builds brand work around sharp comedy, performance, and social-plus-broadcast integration, often contributing script and on-camera craft. Signature credits include Heinz’s Wieden+Kennedy “Toby the Vegetarian Vampire”/Tomato Blood mockumentary and social ecosystem (Webby People’s Voice; One Show Silver Pencil) and Hilton’s roughly 10-minute TikTok “The Ad You Stay In,” which earned One Show Silver Pencils, ADC Silver and Bronze, a D&AD Wood Pencil, and a place on Adweek’s 2023 Jealous List. Other commercial work covers Kraft’s interactive “Mayo Reader”/Real Mayo comedy, Google Pixel hardware launch films, YouTube Brandcast (including the Hasan Minhaj edition) as ECD and director—sometimes co-helming with Karim Zariffa—Facebook Communities Summit, José Cuervo with Dillon Francis, a Dunkin’/NFL cross-promotion, Busch Beer summer promo assets, and the internet-first Netflix series “Netflix by Bots.” He has also contributed writing, voicing, and AI craft to Carvana’s “Joyride” and Klick Health’s ChatGPT radio project “Highway To Heal.” Parallel narrative credits include co-writing the Emmy-nominated Netflix series It’s Bruno! and creating TruTV’s Ghost Story Club.
