Bio & background

Daniel Kleinman is a multiple award-winning commercial director recognized for pioneering visual effects work and exceptional comedy direction. Educated at Hornsey Art School in illustration and printmaking, he began directing music videos in 1983, creating over 100 videos for artists including Madonna, Prince, Fleetwood Mac, and ZZ Top while pioneering post-production effects techniques. His 1989 Gladys Knight video led to replacing Maurice Binder as James Bond title designer; he has created the opening sequences for eight Bond films since GoldenEye (1995), including Casino Royale, Skyfall, and No Time to Die. In advertising, Kleinman has won top honors at Cannes, D&AD, the New York One Show, and British Arrows. His Guinness 'noitulovE' won the 2005 Cannes Film Grand Prix and became the most awarded campaign worldwide in 2006 per The Gunn Report. The John West 'Bear Fight' won a Cannes Gold Lion and generated an estimated 300 million views, while his Xbox 'Champagne' earned a Cannes Gold Lion and overall Grand Prix. His comedy work with Peter Kay for John Smith's entered British popular culture. The Gunn Report named him Most Awarded Director in the world and AdWeek voted him US Commercial Director of the Decade. He co-founded Rattling Stick in 2006, which became the Most Awarded Production Company in the UK. He signed with Arts & Sciences for US representation in April 2023.
