Dan Covert is a Brooklyn / New York City–based director, artist, and co-founder of boutique production company Dress Code. His primary directing skillset is longform documentary and cinematic branded storytelling—feature work includes the SXSW Audience Award–winning Geoff McFetridge: Drawing a Life (2023, EP Spike Jonze), plus artist-portrait films such as Emory Douglas and Font Men. Branded commercial/doc work on his reels includes Apple, Ram, Rivian, Peloton, Kate Spade, Johnson & Johnson, Kroger, Oatly, Proactiv, Google Nest, Giant, and Chevron. Parallel practice as a painter/sculptor informs an artist’s eye for composition. Represented via Dress Code NY. WATCHOUT: Primary skillset is longform / branded documentary and cinematic storytelling—not traditional :30 spot comedy or high-volume TVC. Best fit when the brief wants branded doc, artist portraits, or longer-form narrative commercials.
