Sam and David Cutler-Kreutz are Oscar-nominated directing brothers known for cinematic, emotionally driven storytelling. Their 14-minute immigration drama "A Lien" (2024), executive produced by Adam McKay, earned a nomination for Best Live Action Short Film at the 97th Academy Awards and sparked an ACLU impact campaign. Their short "Trapped" won the Special Jury Prize at SXSW 2024 and the Grand Prix at HollyShorts 2025. The duo's first collaboration, "Flounder" (2022), premiered at Clermont-Ferrand and earned Vimeo Staff Pick honors. In commercials, they have directed work for Adidas, Supreme, and Burberry, earning YDA '23 shortlist recognition, a Berlin Commercial Silver award, and multiple NOWNESS premieres. Sam's background as a cinematographer informs their kinetic, immersive visual style. Reuniting in 2020 after separate careers—Sam as a cinematographer, David as a professional skier—the brothers are based in NYC and Los Angeles, working with RadicalMedia for US commercials and 42 Management for film/TV. They are developing their first feature.
