CC Wade is the directing duo of brothers Michael and Paraic Morrissey, South London filmmakers working with Somesuch in the UK and US. The duo emerged from South London's indie music scene directing videos for childhood friend King Krule, including the 2018 'Biscuit Town,' for which they built an entire miniature city from cardboard boxes treated with cinematic seriousness. Their work is characterized by ambitious practical production design, surrealist imagery, and what LBB calls 'a keen eye for surrealism' comparable to Powell and Pressburger. They've developed recurring creative partnerships with Fat White Family (directing the Genet-inspired 'Feet' in 2019 and 'Work' in 2024, which earned a UK Music Video Awards nomination) and bands including Goat Girl, Jerkcurb, and Sigrid. Their 2021 commercial debut for Maersk demonstrated their transition to advertising while maintaining the surreal, conceptually ambitious approach that defines their aesthetic. The brothers also perform music together as LL Burns. Their collaborations with cinematographers Ula Pontikos and Moritz Mössinger and production designer Francesca Di Mottola reflect a repertory approach to filmmaking rooted in face-to-face creative partnerships.
