Britton Caillouette is a commercial and documentary director based in Petaluma, California, and working with Farm League in the US. A Stanford history graduate who became an above-the-knee amputee after bone-cancer treatment as a teenager, he co-directed the 16mm documentary Sliding Liberia (2007/08) on a self-taught surfer in post-civil-war West Africa while still an undergraduate. Early commercial work included films for Levi’s design team and Nike’s Makers with Wieden+Kennedy. Signature projects include Stumptown Coffee’s lyrical Ethiopia origins short Wax & Gold, Patagonia’s Blue Heart conservation film on Balkan wild rivers, Google Seed Studio’s abstract Making Material You design-manifesto series shot on mixed 16mm and 35mm in Mexico City, and UCHealth’s Still the Same David, which won a Silver Clio Sports award for its portrait of a young amputee athlete. Additional branded work spans Wonder Valley, Ford, Apple, Honda, Intel, Coors Banquet, YETI, AG1 and Energy Upgrade California. Caillouette often works as director-producer-creative director with a visual language of cinematic lyricism, kinetic outdoor action and image-forward pieces; he also serves as executive producer at the Eames Institute.
