Brian Billow is a US comedy director based between Venice, California and Brooklyn, specializing in performance- and dialogue-led commercial comedy. After an award-winning tenure as creative director at DDB Chicago and McCann Erickson New York, he entered directing via Hungry Man in 2008 (SHOOT New Directors Showcase) and Anonymous Content in 2012. He is working with O Positive in the United States, Scoundrel exclusively in Australia and New Zealand (signed February 2024), and Markenfilm internationally. His work spans sketch and situational comedy for insurers, QSR, CPG, sports media, and automotive. Widely cited spots include Geico’s “Aunt Infestation,” “Clogging,” and “Ratt” (The Martin Agency); Dunkin’ “Espresso-Wear”/“CappuChinos” (BBDO New York); Fox Sports and WWE Smackdown films including W+K’s “We’re All Superstars”; Netflix “Airport”; and the anti-bullying PSA #DefyTheName for BBDO and Monica Lewinsky, which earned Silver and Bronze Cannes Lions plus One Show, ADC, D&AD, AICP, LIA, and Webby recognition.
