Ben Strebel is a London-based commercial and film director working with Biscuit Filmworks in the US and UK, which he joined in January 2020. Trade coverage describes his approach as cinematic realism with a surreal twist, with emphasis on storytelling, casting, cinematography and technical craft. Before Biscuit he directed fashion films for Vivienne Westwood and AllSaints and commercials for Nike, Lexus, Apple, Adidas, BMW, LG, Nissan, Samsonite and Jägermeister. That period is credited with a Cannes Lions Gold and multiple Bronzes, a Young Directors Award, and five D&AD Pencils for the film “A Trip To Sea” for Guy Cotton. At Biscuit his reel includes Samsonite’s global “Born To Go” film (with Hamlet; multi-city shoot), Jägermeister “Be The Meister,” Virgin Atlantic “See The World Differently,” Tequila Herradura “Extraordinary Awaits” for Energy BBDO with a substantial VFX pipeline, British Heart Foundation’s “This Is Science” voiced by Cillian Murphy, and a sustained Make My Money Matter collaboration including the Planet Positive Gold and Vimeo Staff Pick “The Hidden Relationship”/“Couples Therapy” starring Kit Harington and Rose Leslie. In late 2024 he directed DeLeón Tequila’s “Bold Spirits, Rise” platform film for Translation, a choreography-forward piece with Shay Latukolan. He continues short-form and music-video work, including Skrillex’s Staff Pick “Butterflies,” and narrative shorts Land’s End (2019) and Acts of Kindness (2025).
