Angela Barnes is an Atlanta-based episodic television and commercial director who earned an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for her work on FX's Atlanta. She directs across major networks and streaming platforms including Apple TV+ (Loot, Mythic Quest), Peacock (Killing It), Starz (Blindspotting), Netflix (Teenage Bounty Hunters, One Day at a Time), BET (Being Mary Jane, The Quad, American Soul), The CW (Legacies), and CBS (Carol's Second Act, Life in Pieces). She is currently directing episodes of Marvel/Disney+'s Ironheart (2025) and Daredevil: Born Again (2026). Barnes graduated from the DGA Assistant Director Training Program and developed her directing skills through the ABC/Disney Directing Fellowship, Fox Global Director Initiative, and Fox Comedy Apprentice Program. She served as 1st AD on Atlanta and Being Mary Jane. In 2024, she signed to Hungry Man for commercial representation across US, UK, and Brazil markets and made her commercial debut directing an Old Spice campaign for Wieden+Kennedy Portland. She has also directed political work including a PSA for Vice President Kamala Harris and the viral 2020 voting PSA Get Your Booty to the Poll. Barnes is working with talent agents Brant Rose and Toochis Rose at Brant Rose Agency and managers Gabriel Mena and Natalia Williams at M88.
